About ACM-W Latin America and the Caribbean

ACM-W Latin America and the Caribbean (ACM-W LAC) is a regional working group dedicated to supporting, celebrating, and advocating for women in computing across Latin America and the Caribbean.

We bring together volunteers, ACM-W chapters, students, researchers, professionals, and local communities throughout the region. Our goal is to strengthen connections, share opportunities, and support initiatives that increase the participation and visibility of women in computing.

ACM-W LAC was created in 2026

The first meeting, before the creation of the Working Group, was in April 2026 in San José, Costa Rica. There, members of ACM-W met with academics from several countries in the LAC region.
